Dr. Trevor Born earned dual degrees at the University of Florida with a B.A. in Classical Studies and a B.S. in Chemistry, graduating cum laude in both. He earned his Medical Degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL. Dr. Born then completed Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he learned from and trained under leaders in the field. He concluded his training with a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, gaining knowledge and expertise in arthroscopic and other minimally invasive techniques for treatment of upper and lower extremity conditions.

During his studies, Dr. Born earned numerous awards and accolades including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Academic Excellence Award, and the Excellence in Medical Neuroscience award from USF College of Medicine.

In conjunction with his specialty in Sports Medicine, Dr. Born served as Team Physician for high school football teams in Minnesota. During fellowship, he served as a team physician for the Brown University varsity teams, taking care of athletes of all sports, as well as the Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins affiliate) AHL hockey team. Recently Dr. Born provided team physician coverage for the NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Cham- pionship during the regional rounds in Providence, RI.

Dr. Born lectures regionally and nation- ally and his research has been published in several journals. He is a member of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association, AAOS (American Academy of Ortho- pedic Surgeons), AANA (Arthroscopy Association of North America), and AOSSM (American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine). He has served as an Associate Master Instructor for AANA, teaching residents the fundamentals of arthroscopy and sports medicine.

Dr. Born is a native of Bradenton, Florida, having graduated from Bayshore High School as valedictorian, and is very excited to be returning to the Gulf Coast. He enjoys football, basketball, golf, guitar, and spending time with his wife, Diana. He joins Sarasota Orthopedic Associates in the commitment to get his patients back on their feet, back to work, back in the game, and back to life.

Dr. Farino is Fellowship Trained and Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery with a specialty in hand and wrist reconstruction, offering the latest in surgical developments and techniques.

A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Farino received his undergraduate degree in Biology achieving Magna cum Laude honors at DeSales University and his medical degree at Temple University Medical School. At Temple, he was recognized as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Farino completed his residency at Penn State University/Milton S Hershey Medical Center and earned his Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He then served as an orthopedic surgeon on the Gulf Coast of Florida prior to joining South Indianapolis Orthopedics.

Dr. Farino has clinical interests in, but not limited to, tendon injuries, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s Contracture, Epicondylitis, and arthritis. Dr. Farino advocates personalized care saying, “I’ve always treated patients as family members. I talk with them about their challenges, offer them the best possible solutions, and together, we come to a consensus as to the best treatment for their situation”. Like all surgeons at SOA, Dr. Farino strongly believes in staying involved in all aspects of patient care, from initial diagnosis to post-operative rehabilitation. “I think the decisions that are made or not made in the postoperative period are as important as the decision to perform surgery and the actual operation itself,” said Dr. Farino.

Dr. Farino has treated the orthopedic needs of sports teams and athletes, including the Pittsburgh Pirates during training season and minor league players during regular season. He also worked with the Under-18 U.S. soccer team as well as student athletes at IMG/Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Dr. Julie Barré specializes in the nonoperative and operative treatment of general orthopedic conditions and injuries including, but not limited to, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, reconstructive shoulder surgery, and sports medicine injuries and surgeries.

Dr. Barré grew up in Tallahassee, Florida completing her undergraduate degree at Florida State University. She then attended Florida A &M University graduating Summa Cum Laude to become a physical therapist. She worked for 7 years as a therapist with collegiate, high school, Olympic athletes, and weekend warriors before pursuing her medical degree at Florida State University. She was chosen to be a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honor society during medical school and graduated, once again, Summa Cum Laude.

Dr. Barré completed her orthopedic surgery residency training in Augusta, Georgia at the Medical College of Georgia followed by her sports medicine fellowship at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. During her time in residency and fellowship she acted as team physician for collegiate basketball teams, high school football teams, and for the professional hockey team.

In Jacksonville, Florida Dr. Barré developed her practice working with First Coast Orthopedics and The Hughston Clinic. She has been the team physician for the Orange Park High School football team and also organized the community-wide free high school physicals each year. Prior to joining Sarasota Orthopedic Associates, Dr. Barré served as Chairman of Orthopedics at Orange Park Medical Center for the past year and has been one of the teaching faculty in Orthopedics for Family Practice residents.

Dr. Barré is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM).

Dr. Julie Barré is thrilled to be relocating to Sarasota, Florida with her husband and two children. Her interests include exercise, golf, cooking, travel, kayaking, standup paddle boarding, and beach activities with her family. With her background as a therapist, she realizes the importance of a team relationship with her patients revolving around open communication and collaboration to help patients get back to their normal function. Caring for patients of all ages, Dr. Howard specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Other areas of his expertise are paralysis, fractures, Charcot foot, Achilles tendon ruptures, tendon transfers, and arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Howard also treats bunions, hammertoes, arthritis, tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, and other problems associated with the lower extremity of the body.

Dr. Howard enjoys speaking, sharing, and teaching about topics dealing with the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. His topics range from common foot and ankle problems and treatments to more complex issues of reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. Fellowship Trained and Board Certified in Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Subspecialty Certified in Sports Medicine, Dr. Lento specializes in the non-surgical treatment of various musculoskeletal problems by identifying the cause of musculoskeletal pain or loss of function and determines whether the problem is mechanical, inflammatory, or degenerative. Together with a variety of non-surgical strategies, Dr. Lento addresses these problems which ables patients to get back to enjoying life.

Dr. Lento received his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia and began serving as a Medical Officer in the United States Navy at Pensacola Naval Hospital where he was selected Intern of the Year. He returned to Philadelphia to complete his residency where he obtained the highest written board score in the country in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). The following year, he completed a fellowship in sports and non-operative spine rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, the #1 rated rehabilitation hospital in the country. After a 10 year stay of training medical students, residents, and fellows, he returned to Philadelphia as an Associate Professor at Temple University Medical School working alongside Orthopedic Surgeons in the Sports Medicine Department.

Dr Lento was formerly an advisor for the North American Spine Society providing the appropriate use of exercise to treat spinal conditions. He is also a nationally and internationally recognized expert in the use of Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. The Musculoskeletal Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging test of the musculoskeletal system to diagnose tendon, muscle, and ligament tears, inflammation or fluid within joints, early changes of rheumatoid arthritis, cartilage, nerve entrapments, and soft tissues without the use of ionizing radiation or MRI. He uses ultrasound in two distinct methods; noninvasive diagnostics and for the guidance of injections directly into problematic areas.

As a Sarasota Orthopedic Associates physician he presently serves as Executive Director of Orthopedic Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute while engaged as an orthopedic surgeon locally.

Dr Morgan earned a BA in Chemistry from Grinnell College, Iowa and began a long career of medicine after acceptance at Howard University College of Medicine. He served an internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University, Chicago where he was recognized as “Resident of the Year” and also as Chief Resident of Orthopedic Surgery. He then served as Resident Physician at the prestigious Rancho Los Amigos Hospital in Downey, CA completing his residency. Dr Morgan joined two of his NW faculty members in their private practice in Evanston, IL and became the first African American staff surgeon at the hospital.

Dr Morgan practiced in his hometown, Gary, IN and with the assistance of his father, Dr Randall Morgan, Sr, he founded the Orthopedic Centers of Northwestern Indiana serving as president He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. He served as Asst. Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Indiana University and as Clinical Associate at NW University. He later earned his MBA from University of South Florida.

In addition to his contributions to community service Dr Morgan is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and certified by the American Board of Managed Care Medicine. A singular highlight was receiving an honorary Doctor of Science by his alma mater, Grinnell College.

Dr Morgan presently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at FL State School of Medicine and Clinical Asst Professor of Community Medicine at the University of CT Health Center. Dr. Moulton specializes in spine surgery.  He is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders in pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.  He performs all aspects of spinal care, from non-operative treatments to minimally invasive surgery, tumor, fracture and deformity correction.  Dr. Moulton is also the Founder and President of the Board of Directors of the Butterfly Foundation, a non-profit medical organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with complex spinal deformity in developing countries.  Sarasota Orthopedic Associates is honored to have him on our team of exceptional fellowship trained physicians!


Dr. Moulton received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Neurophysiology at the University of California in Los Angeles.  Subsequently, he received his medical degree from the State University of New York Down State School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery.  Dr. Moulton followed with a fellowship in Spinal Surgery at New York University/Hospital for Joint Disease.  He was then nominated as a Traveling Fellow by the North American Spine Society, wherein he trained at many of the premier spinal surgery centers around the world. Committed to education, Dr. Moulton previously served as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at New York Medical College where he trained the orthopedic residents and the Hospital for Special Surgery spine fellows. He has published several papers in professional journals, is the editor of a textbook of spinal deformity, and has served as faculty for the Cleveland Clinic Review Courses.  He is fluent in Spanish, Japanese and Portuguese.

He continues his interest in orthopedics and scientific research by pursuing the advancement of newer orthopedic implants, innovative arthroscopic techniques, and groundbreaking technology to improve surgical outcomes.

Dr. Page earned his B.A. in Zoology at Miami University and his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College Of Medicine, achieving the distinction as Highest Ranking Graduate. His residency was completed at the University of South Carolina followed by a Fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the UHZ Sports Medicine Institute, University of Miami. Dr. Patel completed his residency training at Case Western Reserve University where he served as chief resident. In addition, he completed his fellowship in pain management at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he also served as Attending Staff and Consultant to help its expansion.

Dr. Patel has delivered over 1,000 Pain and Health Care lectures and taught over 300 cadaver courses. He served on panels at multiple national and international meetings, including SIS, ASA, ASRA, University London, Cleveland Clinic, and many others. Dr Patel is currently a peer reviewer for academic articles submitted to Pain Medicine, Pain Physician, and PainPractice Journals. Dr. Patel also serves as aBoard Examiner. He has mentored over one hundred pain management practitioners over the last two decades.

Dr. Patel completed his residency training at Case Western Reserve University where he served as chief resident. In addition, he completed his fellowship in pain management at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he also served as Attending Staff and Consultant to help its expansion.

His current focus is on Knee and Hip radiofrequency, biologics (Stem Cells), sacroiliac joint pain, and most passionately, on decreasing prescription Opiate related overdose and death events while delivering Pain Care as we transfer from volume to value. Dr. Justin Raye is a fellowship trained Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician specializing in Interventional Pain Management. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida earning his degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Physiology. Dr. Raye completed medical school in Tennessee at Lincoln Memorial University/DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was ranked in the top 10% of his graduating class. He went on to pursue an internship in Chicago at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center followed by residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Minnesota where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Raye then completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at Arizona Pain Specialists in Scottsdale, AZ where he learned from, and trained under, leaders within the field.

The interventional pain management treatment focus of Dr. Raye is vast. Some of the more common conditions he treats are back/ neck pain, bulging/herniated discs, sciatica, spinal stenosis, spinal compression fractures, arthritis, peripheral joint disease, tendonitis, sports injuries, neuropathy, chronic regional pain syndrome, and headaches. Treatment therapies include image guided injections, RFA (radiofrequency ablation), SCS (spinal cord stimulation), nerve blocks, kyphoplasty, and regenerative medicine including PRP (platelet rich plasma).

Dr. Raye’s research appears in several medical journals and his clinical trials have proven valuable in stem cell repair and spinal stenosis treatment. He belongs to the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, North American Neuromodulation Society, Spine Intervention Society, Academy of Integrative Pain Management, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Silverstein specializes in the operative and non-operative treatments for patients with arthritis and fractures of the hip and knee joints. He has been trained in the latest techniques for hip and knee joint replacements including muscle sparing surgical techniques, partial knee replacements, customized patient specific implants, hip resurfacing, computer and robotic-assisted surgery and care for fractures of the hip and knee.

He is originally from West Virginia, where he received his medical degree from West Virginia University. Dr. Silverstein completed his orthopedic surgery residency in 2011 at the University of Illinois in Chicago, followed by an additional one year fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery with the Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa.

Bryan L. Witt, D.O.

Dr. Bryan Witt is a board eligible, fellowship trained orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon. He graduated with honors from the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine earning a Degree of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Witt finished a traditional internship at Suncoast Hospital located in Largo, Florida. After his internship, Dr. Witt moved to Columbus, Ohio where he completed an orthopedic surgery residency from Doctors Hospital. Finally, Dr. Witt concluded his training in Grand Rapids, Michigan obtaining a fellowship in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery from the Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan.

Dr. Witt served as a faculty member for the orthopedic surgery residency program at Largo Medical Center providing lectures and hands-on training to the orthopedic surgery residents. He also holds a position as Clinical Instructor in the orthopedic surgery division of the department of surgery at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine teaching medical students about orthopedic surgery. At Largo Medical Center, Dr. Witt was the Director of Sports Medicine and served as the team physician for Largo High School.

He has written many orthopedic surgery articles and authored several book chapters which have been published in prestigious orthopedic journals and textbooks, respectively. Dr. Witt has given many local and national lectures on a variety of orthopedic foot and ankle topics, including this past years American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedics Annual Meeting. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedics, and the American Osteopathic Association.

As a fellowship trained orthopedic foot ankle surgeon, Dr. Witt provides surgical and non-surgical treatment options for all foot and ankle conditions. His goal is to help patients and athletes return to their activities of daily living and sports specific activities. Prior to joining Sarasota Orthopedic Associates, Dr. Witt treated patients throughout Fort Myers and Clearwater, Florida. Dr. Witt ascribes to the mission of Sarasota Orthopedic Associates to get his patients back on their feet, back to work, back in the game, and back to life.
