Foot & Ankle
The anatomy of the foot and ankle is complex. For instance, each foot has over 26 bones, 33 joints, and over 100 tendons, muscles and ligaments. It is not surprising that nearly 80% of the population will experience foot or ankle pain at some time in their life. Ankle and foot problems can be the result of many occurrences: tripping while walking, falling, a sports injury, being overweight, having rheumatoid arthritis, having diabetes and much more. When one part of the foot or ankle is hurt, it can affect the entire foot, therefore, immediate medical attention is always beneficial.
At Sarasota Orthopedic Associates, our foot and ankle specialists have decades of training and experience treating issues ranging from basic wear-and-tear conditions to the most traumatic of injuries.
