Nilesh Patel, M.D., M.B.A.
Board Certified Pain Management, and Anesthesiology. Fellowship Trained Pain Management. Board Certified Fellow World Institute of Pain.
He is originally from West Virginia, where he received his medical degree from West Virginia University. Dr. Silverstein completed his orthopedic surgery residency in 2011 at the University of Illinois in Chicago, followed by an additional one year fellowship in hip and knee replacement surgery with the Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa.
Dr. Patel, M.D., M.B.A., is Board Certified in Pain Management and Anesthesiology at Sarasota Orthopedic Associates. A Board Examiner for the World Institute of Pain, Dr. Patel is well versed in the practice of pain management. He served as a teacher and mentor in academic settings at multiple pain societies (including ASRA, SIS, ASA, WIP) and taught at academic institutions; among those are Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Cleveland Clinic, MD Anderson, University London, and Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Patel has delivered over 1,000 Pain and Health Care lectures and taught over 300 cadaver courses. He served on panels at multiple national and international meetings, including SIS, ASA, ASRA, University London, Cleveland Clinic, and many others. Dr Patel is currently a peer reviewer for academic articles submitted to Pain Medicine, Pain Physician, and Pain. Practice Journals. Dr. Patel also serves as a Board Examiner. He has mentored over one hundred pain management practitioners over the last two decades.
Dr. Patel completed his residency training at Case Western Reserve University where he served as chief resident. In addition, he completed his fellowship in pain management at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation where he also served as Attending Staff and Consultant to help its expansion.
His current focus is on Knee and Hip radiofrequency, biologics (Stem Cells), sacroiliac joint pain, and most passionately, on decreasing prescription Opiate related overdose and death events while delivering Pain Care as we transfer from volume to value.
