Daniel J. Howard, DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Howard earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Science from the University of West Florida at Pensacola and went on to receive his Masters of Science degree in Systems Analysis. Dr. Howard served as Aerospace Engineer at General Dynamics Air and Space Division. He received his degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine at Miami and completed his Podiatric Surgical Residency at the Atlanta VA Medical Center (associated with Emory University School of Medicine). Dr. Howard completed an advanced Fellowship training program in Complex Foot Surgery with Dr. Harold W. Vogler through Sarasota Orthopedic Associates.
Caring for patients of all ages, Dr. Howard specializes in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Other areas of his expertise are paralysis, fractures, Charcot foot, Achilles tendon ruptures, tendon transfers, and arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Howard also treats bunions, hammertoes, arthritis, tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, and other problems associated with the lower extremity of the body.
Dr. Howard enjoys speaking, sharing, and teaching about topics dealing with the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. His topics range from common foot and ankle problems and treatments to more complex issues of reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. Dr. Howard sees patients at the Sarasota Orthopedic Associates offices in Sarasota and has medical priviledges at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Doctors Hospital, and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center.
